Description
Our Ancient Egypt gallery has captured the imaginations of Museum visitors of all ages since 1839, and this intricately decorated sarcophagus has been its centrepiece. Renpit-Nefert lived and died around 2400 years ago, but today the care and artistry of her burial ceremony invite us to reflect on how people have lived, died, and mourned over the aeons.
